I was just thinking that the most unrealistic part of Outer Worlds was the idea that 6 grown adults were coexisting with only 1 (one) bathroom, but then I remembered that scene in the ship where Max (at his Maxiest) spent like an hour in the shower and another just grooming his hair while Nyoka threatened to bust the door in and kick his ass
So really it might've been the most realistic aspect of the game
Max: I am a moderate, peaceful man.
Ellie: You threw a chair at Felix not even five minutes ago.
Max: That was a moderate, peaceful compromise from the table I was going to throw at him.

Outer Worlds companions freely smoke in the Unreliable. Freely shoot guns as target practice in the Unreliable. The place could go up in flames in a second. We could shoot a hole in the hull and be sucked out one bit at a time. Companions don’t care. The Captain COULD bring it up but like. The crew could also bring up something stupid the captain has done, like opt to land in Cascadia and just leg it to Fallbrook, no looking back, because 10k for a navkey to Stellar Bay is ridiculous. No one is right, everyone is wrong, we all lose.

Captain Hawthorne from Outer Worlds is easily the best example of how to do a custom player protagonist in gaming, to the point where no matter how you decide to play them they will inevitably be the best character in the game because every single dialogue option is overflowing with personality. There is no way to play them where they don't come across like a complete unhinged lunatic, you just decide where on the vast and varied spectrum of total nutcase it is they occupy.
